Louis R. Hockenberg is a lifelong Iowan who was born in Des Moines and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1970 before earning his law degree from Drake University Law School in 1973. He joined Sullivan & Ward that same year and has spent more than five decades serving clients throughout Iowa. Lou currently serves as President of the Professional Corporation.

Lou’s practice focuses primarily on real estate, estate planning, business planning, and business transactions. Throughout his career, he has assisted individuals, families, business owners, and developers with a wide range of legal matters, providing practical guidance and trusted counsel tailored to each client’s unique needs.

In addition to his legal practice, Lou has remained actively involved in both the legal profession and his community. He is a member of the Polk County, Iowa State, and American Bar Associations, has co-authored a real estate practice manual for the Iowa State Bar Association, and has spoken at numerous legal seminars. He has also served in leadership roles with the City of Clive and various charitable organizations.
