A couple weeks ago I posted about the difficulties breastfeeding mothers may face in the workplace.  Anarticle in today’s Des Moines Register highlights the same issue and discusses potential legislation in the Iowa Legislature.  Unfortunately, the article indicates that the legislature may table this topic pending the development of the new federal law signed on Monday.  (The federal law apparently only applies to employers with 50 or more employees).  For now, breastfeeding mothers in Iowa may need to rely on their persuasive skills to obtain a clean, private place to express breast milk at work.
