Mr. Joynt graduated from Drake University Law School in 1971 and has been with the firm since graduation. He has over 35 years experience in public utility law and serves as the principal attorney for various electric and telecommunications utilities. He provides a full range of general counsel services for his utility clients. His services include the preparation, review, and negotiation of ownership, participation, acquisition and financing agreements. He also represents various electric and telephone cooperatives from the board of directors and management perspective in the preparation, review and negotiation of employment agreements, deferred compensation agreements, and other employee related matters including negotiations with labor unions.
Mr. Joynt is admitted to practice before the Iowa Supreme Court, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa. He is also admitted before the United States Supreme Court and the United States Court of Military Appeals. He is a member of the Electric Cooperative Bar Association and is a member of the Polk County Iowa, Iowa State and American Bar Associations.
